Outings By Public Transport

Please see Newsletter for up to date details of waiting lists etc

23 July    Southside House, Wimbledon
We are fully booked for this outing. Only two on the waiting list though, so if you’re interested, it would be worth putting your name down. We will meet at Victoria Station at 1pm (outside Smith’s).

22 Aug    Ham House.
This visit is booked for 20 people. This is not a tour as originally thought, but a self-guided walk through the house and gardens. The house opens at noon but I suggest we arrive early and enjoy the gardens and café. The house is rather small and they suggest we enter in groups of 10 or less, then proceed at our own pace. The cost is £9.50 for non-NT members, to be paid on the day. We will travel from Victoria (meeting at 10.30am), to Richmond by train, and then by bus, followed by a 10min walk.

19 Sept    Fulham Palace, once home to the Bishops of London.
Weather permitting the tour starts with a visit to the gardens and a tour round the outside of the building. (This can be omitted for the less able). We then go inside and visit the Victorian Chapel, Bishop Sherlock’s Room and the two museum rooms which include the Porteus Library. If there are no functions you will also see the Great Hall and Bishop Terrick’s rooms. The tour lasts for 90mins. There is a café where lunch can be bought for around £8. The cost is £10 including coffee/tea on arrival. We will meet at Victoria Station at 10.15am.

28 Nov    Vintners’ Hall.
The hall is near Cannon St reet Station The cost to include tea/coffee will be £15. The tour lasts 1.5hr starting at 11am.
