Flare Path at Bromley Little Theatre (Saturday matinee 6th June)

2nd July 2024

The play at Bromley Little Theatre in June was timed very aptly to coincide with D Day celebrations. Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path was first performed in 1942 and was beautifully written and informed by Rattigan’s own experiences in the RAF. Bromley Little Theatre’s production was also well produced and performed with several members of our group saying it was the best play they had attended.

The set and cast were excellent in taking us back in time to the uncertainty of wartime and how so many young lives were lost so tragically. The bravery of the crews was clearly shown and how those left behind lived on a knife edge waiting for news of their loved ones.

Happily, despite fears, this play had a happy ending after a tense wait for a Polish Count and airman to return.
