THE GOOD LIFE - Bromley Little Theatre
7th June 2025

Quite a daunting task to recreate the iconic characters from this 1970s TV comedy series but it is done with ease in BLT’s latest offering. I think most of the audience for the matinee on Saturday were of an age to remember the original and from the laughter I presume most thoroughly enjoyed it.
One of the things that amazes me is how the tiny stage always gives the illusion of being a much larger space and this can only be down to clever choreography which is well executed by the actors. An excellent example of this is in the last scene of the first act where six characters (high on pot they are unaware had been sprinkled into a poppy seed cake) are dashing seemingly chaotically around the stage without stumbling or tripping over each other. Another thing that’s always apparent is that even the actors playing minor parts put everything into it.
All in all a very pleasant afternoon of light entertainment for 48 members of the theatre group on a very wet afternoon in June.
