Theatre Group visit to see Pressure at Bromley Little Theatre
Based on events of the days leading up to D-Day this play is principally about the conflicting opinions of two meteorologists regarding the weather forecast for June 5th 1944, the intended date of the Normandy Landings, and which one General Eisenhower had most faith in! It was crucial of course that there be the best weather and as calm seas as possible for the success of the mission.

In spite of the fact we all know the outcome, the actors manage to maintain a feeling of suspense and sound as if they know what they are talking about when discussing the various weather maps they use and how and why they think conditions will change over a period of time. The props are amazing - so much effort must have been made to acquire or borrow these and also the newsreel footage from that time.
