Having a duty of care towards our members, the Executive Committee has decided that we should take steps ahead of any instruction from the government. Therefore most of our Open Meetings will be cancelled until the end of May, as follows:
- General Meetings – every 3rd Tuesday at Bromley URC
- Local Studies – every 1st Tuesday at Bromley URC
- Gardening – every 1st Wednesday at St Mark’s Westmoreland Road, Bromley
- Modern World – every 2nd and 4th week at the Central Library, Bromley
- Outings by Public Transport – various dates and locations
- Travel Group talks – 4th Friday March and April at the Central Library, Bromley
If you attend any of the Open Meetings and have friends and acquaintances without email who also attend, please pass this message on to them.
We will review the situation in May and keep members informed.
Members are advised to check with Group Leaders regarding other interest groups, as many, including those that meet in public buildings, will also be cancelled.
Full details of all interest groups are given in the Booklet given to all members. More details can be obtained by clicking on the image below.
If you wish to contact a group leader or to join a group please use the Contact Us page stating the group leader and/or group name.
To see the schedule of upcoming group meetings click here for the full Beacon Calendar. In the calendar, click the Group down arrow and select a group to see its full schedule.
A Group Liaison Officer (GLO) is responsible for each group. Meetings may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Some Groups have several different categories. If there are no spaces available, your name can be put on a waiting list.
Members may attend any groups marked Open without first referring to the group contact. A small charge is usually made towards the hire of a hall, or meeting place.
We are always looking for new activities, and to double up on existing ones. If you have a particular skill or experience that would benefit our members you would be most welcome to start a group. You do not have to be a teacher – enthusiasm for your subject is the important thing. Just email details using the form on the Contact Us page.
